How close is your business to a sanctioned party?
Banks, government agencies, and global companies use Kharon to understand their exposure to sanctioned and listed parties, forced-labor rules, and export controls. The risk is rarely on the entity in front of you. It sits two or three connections out, through an owner, a vessel, a bank account, or a former seller. As Kharon's founding designer, I took CoreStream from zero to one: a monitoring product that shows analysts what changed in their network, why it matters, and how close the risk sits.
Process Heading 1Starting from the analyst's desk
I co-wrote the PRDs with our Director of Product and turned them into interactive prototypes early, so every conversation happened over something clickable. Over two months I ran interviews and tests with executives and directors at five customer firms, three of our in-house analysts, and Kharon's own leadership.
A feed, a graph, and the evidence behind it
CoreStream came together as three panels working as one: a feed of new insights, a network canvas that shows how a risk connects back to you, and entity details that hold the record. How recent a finding is, how far it sits from you, and how strong each connection is all shape the ranking, so a majority owner reads very differently from a seller from years ago. To prove the graph before engineering committed, I built full synthetic risk networks and ran the visualization against them.
Shipped to paying customers
CoreStream launched and Kharon sold it to paying customers, with trials at more firms continuing after launch. The PrimeVue design system I built behind it gave 20+ engineers one source to ship from and cut engineering lift by about 25%.
